Montgomery County Prevention Coalition Resources

The first resource is a new partnership with Project Child Safe, a program through the National Shooting Sports Foundation, who has generously provided 500 gun locks to aid in suicide prevention efforts throughout Montgomery County. They have also provided various educational materials to the coalition that will help bring awareness to the role that gun safety has in preventing suicide. Contact Tristyn Eppley if you have opportunities where these free gun locks can be distributed. Learn more about Project Child Safe.

The second is the Marijuana Safety for children card. The Marijuana Committee of Montgomery County Prevention Coalition has developed a card targeted to individuals that have been recommended marijuana for medicinal purposes. The card details safety precautions that should be used when around children. Download here.

The Gospel and Race, West Ohio Conference

This resource is free and available through the West Ohio Conference of The United Methodist Church. Here is an excerpt on the resource:

“Conversations about race can be challenging, even and especially in church settings. And yet, Christ came for all people. The Gospel and Race is a free resource offered by the West Ohio Conference for Christians, faith leaders and ministers interested in exploring what the Bible says about God, humanity and race. The Gospel and Race is a four-week study that can be used at any time of the year; West Ohio will be sharing this content in our NewsNet email newsletter beginning the week of January 6, 2020 but the resources will remain on our website for your reference.”

Find this resource on their website.

If you know of other faith-based resources from your denomination that help to promote health, healing and wholeness, please contact Michelle Randall, Program Coordinator for the Health Ministries Program of Premier Health.
