Do You Know About Ohio EFNEP?

The Ohio EFNEP is the Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program. The program shows its participants how to eat healthier and be more active even on a limited budget!

They offer a series of eight workshops from 60 – 90 minutes, in small groups that provide opportunities for talking and hands-on learning. Participants also learn how to balance meals and their budget! These are free and eligible participants receive FREE supplies.

Who is eligible? Individuals with children who are eligible for assistance programs such as Ohio Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), WIC or Head Start.

Currently this program is offered in 20 counties in Ohio and the OSU Extension Office here in Dayton supports Montgomery, Clark, and Greene Counties.

Premier Health Well-Being Center at Miami Valley Hospital North

Ellis Human Development Institute-ADHD Group Therapy for Children

Beginning January 2019, the Ellis Human Development Institute (WSU School of Professional Psychology) will be offering a 6-session ADHD group for children aged 7-11 years old. The format will consist of six weekly groups for children. Included in these sessions, there will be one session for parents and one where both parents and children join together. Children must be able to participate in a group setting. The group will run Mondays from 6-7 p.m. beginning in January 2019.

This opportunity will be available not only starting in January but again at least two more times in 2019. The fee for all other clients is based on a sliding scale.
