MVH Earns Consumer Choice Award for the 20th Consecutive Year

DAYTON, Ohio (October, 12, 2015) – For the 20th straight year, Miami Valley Hospital has earned a Consumer Choice Award for excellence in health care. The honor was announced today by National Research Corporation, an independent research firm based in Lincoln, Nebraska. The annual award identifies hospitals across the United States that healthcare consumers choose as having the highest quality and image. The Consumer Choice Award was first given out in 1996. MVH has earned the honor each year since and is only one of 34 hospitals across the country to hold this esteem record.

“The National Research survey is the largest of its kind. To have the Dayton community recognize Miami Valley Hospital in this way, is a great reflection of the commitment of our doctors, employees and volunteers,” said Mark Shaker, president and CEO of Miami Valley Hospital. Winners of the Consumer Choice Award are determined by consumer perceptions on multiple quality and image ratings collected in the National Research Corporation’s Market Insights survey, the largest online consumer healthcare survey in the country.

National Research surveys more than 300,000 households in the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia. Hospitals named by consumers are analyzed and ranked based on Core Based Statistical Areas defined by the U.S. Census Bureau, with winning facilities being ranked the highest.
