Miami Valley Hospital Earns Consumer Choice Award for 21st Straight Year

1 of only 32 hospitals nationwide to win every year since award’s inception

DAYTON, OH (November 7, 2016) – For the 21st consecutive year, Miami Valley Hospital has earned a Consumer Choice Award for excellence in health care. The honor was announced today by National Research Corporation, an independent research firm based in Lincoln, Nebraska. The annual award identifies hospitals across the United States that health care consumers believe have the highest quality and reputation, as well as the best doctors and nurses.

The Consumer Choice Award was first awarded in 1996. MVH has earned the honor each year since and is only one of 32 hospitals across the country to hold this esteemed record.

“It’s humbling to receive this vote of confidence for 21 years in a row. To have it come from our neighbors makes it that much more meaningful to all of us – doctors, nurses, employees and volunteers,” said Mark Shaker, president of Miami Valley Hospital.

National Research surveys more than 300,000 households in the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia. Hospitals named by consumers are analyzed and ranked based on geographic areas defined by the U.S. Census Bureau.
