Midwest Health Collaborative Names Chief Executive Officer

Leading Ohio Health Systems Collaborate to Improve the Value of Health Care

COLUMBUS, Ohio (May 16, 2016) – Ohio-based Midwest Health Collaborative (MHC) has named a Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Daniel Kueter will lead MHC effective May 23, 2016. He has an extensive background in health care and the health insurance industry. He brings more than 20 years of business leadership and operations experience, including specific experience with healthcare innovation, provider network development, business start-up, risk management and payment transformation. Kueter has a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy, West Point, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School.  

As CEO, Kueter will lead the development of patient-centered health solutions for Ohio employers and strengthen the collaboration across MHC’s six founding member organizations. Prior to joining MHC, Dan was president and chief executive officer of the University of Iowa Health Alliance (UIHA), a multi-system clinically integrated network. 

MHC was formed in 2015, bringing together some of Ohio’s leading, independent health systems to exchange best practices, share resources and improve the quality of healthcare services delivered to patients and communities throughout Ohio. MHC is comprised of the following health systems, representing 40 hospitals and hundreds of care sites across Ohio:

Key initiatives over the next several years will focus on supply chain and cost transformation, identifying tailored and innovative payment models, and creating an actively managed large-scale network.
