Visitor Restrictions

Dear Patients, Families and Visitors,

For the health and safety of our patients and employees, Premier Health, in coordination with Public Health representatives and the Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association (GDAHA), agreed to begin restricting visitation for visitors at each of our facilities.

The visitor restriction policy, which began Monday, December 22, 2014, states:

  • No visitation by anyone who is ill with respiratory symptoms,  which include coughing, fever, chills, headache, vomiting, sore throat, muscle aches, and diarrhea.
  • No visitation by anyone under age 14, even if he/she have received the seasonal flu vaccine.

Influenza (the flu) is a highly contagious, respiratory illness caused by a virus.  Each year about 200,000 people are hospitalized from influenza.  On average, about 25,000 people die from influenza or complications from influenza each year.

Visitation restrictions will remain until influenza is no longer prevalent in the community and Public Health and GDAHA criteria for restrictions are no longer met.  Should you have a concern regarding the restrictions, please talk with your nurse.

Premier Health appreciates your support of this restriction for the safety of our patients.
