Hysterectomy, the surgical removal of the uterus, is the most common treatment for uterine cancer, according to the National Institutes of HealthOff Site Icon (NIH). Sometimes the ovaries and fallopian tubes are also removed during the surgery, according to the NIH.

Other treatment options include radiation, chemotherapy, hormone therapy, or a combination of any of the three, according to the Society of Gynecologic OncologyOff Site Icon (SGO). The particular treatment plan varies from woman to woman, as well as the type of illness, according to the SGO.
