Can an intraocular lens correct my vision enough that I won’t need glasses or contacts after surgery?

Multifocal or accommodative lenses can make it possible for you to see without glasses after surgery, according to the American Academy of OphthalmologyOff Site Icon (AAO).

But, the negative of these lenses is that they are more expensive and not often fully covered by insurance.

However, everyone’s eyes are different, so you might not be able to tell until after getting the new intraocular lenses whether or not you’ll need glasses.

Talk to your doctor for more information about whether intraocular lenses can help you to see without glasses or contacts.
