COVID-19 And Flu Testing

Testing for COVID-19 and the flu plays an important role in determining effective treatment and prevention for these illnesses.

Effective March 22, 2022, the government program that covered the cost of COVID testing for people without health insurance ended. With the program ending, we can no longer bill the government for COVID testing. Only self-pay COVID testing for travel, and self-requested COVID testing, will be accepted at all CompuNet sites. Free COVID-19 tests also can be ordered by going to www.covidtests.gov.

Schedule your COVID-19 test

Screening PCR (nose swab) testing is available at many locations in Southwest Ohio through CompuNet Clinical Laboratories. Please note:

  • Only self-pay COVID testing for travel and self-requested COVID testing will be accepted at CompuNet sites.
  • Testing is by appointment only.
  • Antigen (rapid) tests are available only at the Moraine location.

To ensure an orderly process, it is vitally important that if you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or the flu, first contact your family physician or primary care provider. Work with your provider’s office to see if you meet certain criteria before you come to any of the collection sites.

These are common symptoms of COVID-19, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

I Don't Have Symptoms But Want or Need to Be Tested

If you are asymptomatic, meaning you currently don’t have symptoms of COVID-19, but want to be tested or rule out a diagnosis of COVID-19 (including for travel documentation), CompuNet Laboratories offer screening testing. This may be helpful if you don’t have symptoms of COVID-19 but may have been in contact with someone with COVID-19. You can:

  • Talk with your provider to determine what screening test is right for you and where to receive the test
  • Get a self-pay test

Getting Test Results

CompuNet will collect and forward specimens to its core lab in Moraine for testing. Results are available in MyChart (for patients whose physician ordered the test in Epic) or through CompuNet’s patient portal, My Labs Now.

Oral Antiviral Medication Available

If you test positive for COVID-19, and your symptoms began less than five days before your test, you may be able to take an oral antiviral medication that can help lessen your symptoms. You can schedule a virtual visit with your primary care provider.

IgG Antibody Testing

Testing for antibodies (blood test) after COVID-19 passes can provide peace of mind regarding previous symptoms. Antibody testing (blood test) for COVID-19 can potentially tell you if you have had a past COVID-19 infection. Antibody testing is available through CompuNet. Learn more.
