Health Ministries Program
The Health Ministries Program at Good Samaritan Hospital supports Premier Health’s commitment to build healthier communities by supporting faith communities on their journey to reclaim their traditional and historic role in health and healing.
About the Health Ministries Program
Health Ministries emphasizes the wholeness of body, mind and spirit for members of faith communities and the people that they serve. Healing, health, and wellness are promoted. This ministry is a cooperative effort and includes congregational members interested in health and wholeness, hospitals, and other health agencies in the community. Health Ministries provides education, information, and resources in the areas of disease prevention and wellness promotion to improve the health of the community.
The GSH Health Ministries program was established in 1994 as part of Premier Health’s mission to serve the community. It serves as a coach and mentor to Faith Community Nurses and Health Ministers to strengthen and support the ongoing development of whole-person ministries leading to the integration of faith and health in faith communities.
